Our mission and Programs
Take a Kid Fishing small group event, was designed to create an adaptive environment where children, ages 5-18, and parents can both benefit from sharing a day of fun on the water. Events are hosted at a local lake, or body of water. Participants are supplied with fishing gear and tackle. Kids are partnered with an experienced volunteer angler or with the supervision of a parent or guardian. They are shown proper fishing techniques, receive natural resources and boater safety education. Participants will board a boat and enjoy a day of fishing on the water.
Goals
•Expose children, who may not otherwise get the opportunity, to the sport of fishing and the outdoors.
•Encourage continued participation in fishing by developing skills in the children along with their parents.
•Increase the awareness of all participants and help strengthen family relationships and local communities.
•Offer education elements such as angler ethics, fish identification, and water safety to local youth.
•Provide education and understanding to children about fish as a natural resource.
•Develop skills that provide a lifelong hobby.
Take a Kid Fishing group event. Events are designed to create and provide more fishing opportunities for urban youth, ages 5-16. Each event hosts approximately 50 to 500 children. The kids fish in groups on-shore, receiving instruction by experienced anglers on angling techniques and environmental excellence. The parents are encouraged to participate with their children and prior to each fishing session each group receives a tutorial on proper fishing techniques and water safety.

Special kids fishing program is designed so children with special needs or learning disabilities and their family members can enjoy a day of fishing. Kids and their parents will be introduced to the sport of fishing. Participants will learn the techniques of fishing from avid fisherman. Kids will receive a free rod & reel, a tackle box and tackle. We offer large group events and small group events. Some of our events include a one week, all expenses paid fishing trip for a kid and parent.

The Take a Warrior Fishing program is designed to support military personnel and their families, specifically targeting military members who have served our country, by creating an adaptive, community based outdoor recreation experience through the sport of fishing. Kids will receive a free rod & reel, a tackle box and tackle. We offer large group events and small group events. Some of our events include a one week, all expenses paid fishing trip for a kid and parent.
Numerous studies have shown that traumatic events not only affect the psychological structures of the self, but also the attachment and meaning that link individuals and their families together. This program seeks to restore those disconnects, it allows military members a chance to have social interactions and bond with family members, while enjoying the sport of fishing.
